First off, thanks to all of you. My girlfriend thinks that I've lost it because of this site. I've saved a lot of money on this car because of TSN.
The transmission has 117k miles on it. I don't feel too inclined to spend the time on pulling the engine, as everything in that area is in great shape due to the last owner. After reading various sites I don't think that a transmission rebuild is beyond my abilities, and I love to learn new things. I picked up the car a couple of months ago with a torn up roof and some other issues. The body is good except for some rust under the hood and right below the trim about six inches in front of the driver's side wheel well. I got the car for $2k and I have another thousand in it. I don't mind working on it, and I enjoy it. I'm just not in a position to be throwing tons of cash at it. I am just contemplating whether I should sell it in the spring and go back to only driving my beater, or whether this vehicle is worthwhile to keep since I feel I could come out well in the black on a sale. Thanks again to all of you. It's good to know there are still so many people out there who love cars like I do.
