It's more Saab than a rebodied Opel. This "not a real Saab" thing started when someone noticed that the key didn't go between the seats. I've owned 4 900's and one 9000. If I didn't want a convertible, the 9000 is a clear winner. A bit larger outside, increadably larger inside, quieter, a really nice ride.
The only downside is that Bentley didn't (and I think still doesn't) make a repair manual for the 9000. I ended up buying a set of used factory manuals. With them, the 9000 was easy to maintain.
Buy the 5-door, avoid models with traction control, and be happy.
