Has this happened to anyone in the past?
I seem to lose a little puddle of coolant whenever I let the car sit after a longer drive, however, I do not lose the coolant right away. There is no leaking at idle not right after I shut the car off. The leak occurs, apparently, after the car sits for a few hours and cools down, however, still under pressure.
A trick that I've found is that if I release the pressure right after driving (removing the resevior cap and put the cap right back on), I don't lose any coolant at all. It does get a little annoying poping the hood and slowly unscrewing the resevior cap every time I drive, but, it seems to work.
Hose clamps at tight the way they should be. I would guess that a hose swells with the hot coolant and then shrinks as its cooled. I replaced all coolant and heater hoses last year except the long lower hose....the expensive one that looks like its hell to replace. The water pump is a few years old with about 15,000 miles on it.
Anyone go throgh this before and what did you do to solve it. Thanks fo any help.
