....center and towards the "back" of the engine (front of car). The engine compartment is quite clean and the car runs very cool; barely rises above 1/3 on the temp gauge encept to about 1/2 in hot summer bumper-to-bumper traffic. Since its winter now, 1/3 is as high as it goes (Long Island).
Its dry at the resevoir, t-stat housing, upper radiator hoses and also the lower hose where it meets the radiator, resevoir hose. I haven't gotton around to renting the pressure tester from Auto Zone, hoping to fine some clues first.
My resevior cap is 1-2 years old - yellow cap. By the way, whenever I release pressure after driving distances, there is not much pressure to release. I can drive 70 miles and the "hissing" sound made when loosening the cap does not last more than a few seconds. I can get the cap off safely in 5 seconds or less by quickly loosening, hearing the hiss sound, and tightening in rapid succession.
Does this sound familiar?
