A couple of things that helped me with my '89 were ...
- get a couple of 1 foot 1/2" extensions and, IIRC, a cheap 17-mm (or was it 19-mm) socket to get the nut loose. An 18" or 24" breaker bar helps, too.
- I didn't take out the radiator, just moved the driver's side fan out of the way. Depending on the condition of the lower torx screw holding the fan in, it might be a bit easier to just pull the radiator like JLowe describes.
- You'll need to remove the skidplate so you can jack up the front of the transmission. Sometimes the rear of the skidplate is bent, so be prepared to spend a bit of time with it, just-in-case.
- I like to put a piece of wood between the jack and transmission, to protect the transmission case.
- Nobody mentioned it, and you'll probably do it, but I found it easier to do the work with the hood removed. (And, after replacing a clutch without removing the hood in the days before discovering TSN, was I ever glad to discover how easy it is to remove the hood.)
