my system is set up as follows:
1. battery in trunk
2. positive lead from batt to starter.
3. cable from starter to alt.
4. cable from starter to dist block on pass side.
5. separate cable from batt to wolf ems
i took some readings and got the following:
1. Engine warm/not running
wolf - 13.1
alt - 12.80
dist block - 12.86
batt - 12.91
2. Idle/engine warm/no accessories
wolf - 14.5
alt - 14.33
dist block - 14.28
batt - 14.31
3. Idle/engine warm/headlights and fogs on
wolf - 14.5
alt - 14.18
dist block - 14.04
batt - 14.16
it makes me believe that the wolf system is reading higher than it should. also, this does not seem to point out issues normally experienced when i have been driving for extended periods. maybe it is something in the engine compt that gets hotter over time from the heat off the engine that causes the drop?
do the preceeeding readings point out any shortfalls of the wiring configuration?
should the dist block be run off the battery from the trunk and not off the starter? or should it be run from the alt direct?
any thoughts/interpretations?
thanks.
