Good to hear you got it back in good shape. My 89 900TC was stolen from my underground parking spot. Got it back 4 days later missing my 17" ronal RT wheels/Kumho tires (6 weeks old), stereo and various goodies out of the trunk. Funny thing was the ignition switch looked perfect...no idea how they got it going. Almost like they had a key but highly unlikely as the lock was popped out of the trunk, etc.
My father in law rigged a couple of wires from the starter solenoid to the centre console...rear power window lock switch? Convertibles don't use this switch. I changed it from an on/off switch to a convertible top/sunroof rocker switch. To start the car you have to turn the key with one hand and hold the rocker switch down with the other. I'm sure a car thief with some knoweldge, besides on how to be a prick, could get around this but it sure makes me feel better.
