Strange Question: total loss of trans oil...

I'm posing this question for my dad, who is a lawyer working on a case that involves a '92 900 Automatic. Apparently this woman went in to have her oil changed in MD at Jiffy Lube. She claims that instead of draining the engine oil they drained the transmission fluid and then proceeded to overfill the engine oil as if it had been drained (leaving the trans with zero fluid). She then drove the car non-stop to GA (10 hr drive) with no problems. When she arrived in GA the car would no longer work (not sure of the specific symptoms). She claims that they drained the trans fluid in MD and she made it all the way to GA with no trans fluid. Is this possible? Is it easy to mistake the trans drain plug for the engine oil drain plug? The whole story sounds really fishy to me, so I'm trying to get a better understanding of what could have happened to report to my dad.
Thanks in advance,
Ty
