Your automatic transmission should shift crisply. If the fluid hasn't been changed, it would be prudent to do so. Use Type F ATF. Not a big deal to do it yourself if you are at all handy. Drain out as much as you can when you take out the ATF drain plug. Replace with equal amount. Drive enough to mix, and repeat the operation. Then do it one more time.
The final drive fluid is 75W-90 gear lube--would be difficult to confuse it with ATF because of the color and smell. Most important is to check the level and make sure there is enough in there. Changing it isn't a bad idea--I use synthetic in mine and check the level at least yearly. (My son-in-law didn't check his, and it cost him a transmission $$$$).
Change the power steering fluid yourself by sucking out what you can, replacing to proper level, and drive to mix. Then repeat the process a couple more times.
Brake fluid should be changed annually, but at least every 2 years.
A good Saab specialist should be able to give you an opinion on the automatic transmission. The guy at Jiffy Lube or the corner gas station may not be able to do so.
