Replacement/Rebuilt Transmission for 1993 Turbo (long)

Good afternoon all,
I have a 1993 900 Turbo w/156K. Transmission has been popping out of 2nd gear under deceleration for about a year and a half, so I know that I ultimately will need to replace the transmission. I have several questions regarding this procedure:
1) I don't have enough space to do the job myself - what should I expect to pay an independent mechanic to put in a transmission (I'm in central NH near VT)?
2) What is the difference in cost and quality b/w a newly rebuilt transmission vs. a replacement transmission? If I get a replacement tranny, how many miles on it are acceptable and what is the difference in price relative to a new rebuild?
3) Is there a material difference in what year car the transmission comes out of or is any year acceptable? Can it be either Turbo or n/a? Can you use a 5-speed manual from an 8-valve car?
Lastly, has anyone in Hanover, NH/Norwich, VT used Woodsman Saab before and what has your experience been?
Thanks,
Bill
