An independent Saab mechanic should be able to do the job for around $2000 to $2500. A dealer would probably be near double that.
The trouble with putting in any used transmission is that it is just as much work as installing a rebuilt unit, but is likely to be as bad or worse than the tranny you just pulled out. (Unless of course you happen to know it's a recent rebuild out of a 900 that was totalled from the rear or some similar deal.)
