My 86 900 was stolen recently in Seattle. Both the police department and my repair shop told me there's been a large number of thefts of older Saabs lately by people using keys (no damage to the ignition switches or forced entry damage.)

2 days ago I bought a beautiful 83 900 Turbo and was surprised to find that the keys to my 86 work smoothly in the 83, despite the fact that the previous owner replaced all the lock cylinders in the 83.

So, my question is, are there any innovate solutions to this problem?

The 3 dealers, 2 repair shops, and 1 locksmith I called all suggested 1) replacing all the lock cylinders (again) and 2) installing an alarm system. Surely someone out there has solved this problem.....
