Here's the deal:
I am cruising on the highway, and I push the pedal down. As the boost gauge reaches 3/4 into the yellow, it just stays there. This is usually around 3300 rpm's. The whole car just "flat-lines", meaning it doesn't seem to go any faster, just stays at 85 - 95 mph. Makes no difference if I'm in 4th or 5th.
I have replaced plugs (BCP7EV, gapped to .026"), wires, cap, rotor 1K miles ago, and it didn't seem to help.
I always use 93 octane fuel.
It doesn't feel like fuel-cutoff (which makes the car buck). I would assume I'd see the boost gauge needle fall back if the boost was being limited by the APC system (knock, pressure, etc.). If the clutch was slipping, wouldn't the car buck as well? The drivetrain (engine/tranny) feel smooth, it's just that the car won't go any faster no matter how far down I push the pedal.
Any ideas?
Joe
