The multi-pin wire connector won't fit through the sheet metal in the door jamb, so you need to carefully pry open the plastic "box" holding the pins. This "box" snaps together, and can be un-snapped without damaging it. You should be able to figure it out with a close inspection. Without the connector, the wires and pins will fit through the hole. Label them so that you can re-assemble the connector later. (The connector I'm referring to is located in the fender well just in front of the door hinges.) Make sure to take care of this before un-mounting the door, or else you'll have a free-floating door tethered to the car by nothing but electrical wiring.
