1990 900 - Exhaust header pipe

The exhaust header pipe on my 1990 900 (4 door sedan Classic- non Turbo)
rusted and broke off at the catalytic converter flange.
How tough a job is this to change the pipe out myself. I see that eeuroparts.com has Starla replacements for about $63. Plus the appropriate gaskets.
I recall that the last time I had this done it cost about $250 to $300 at Meineke. (I don't want to put a lot of $ into this car- it now has 245,000 miles on it and is just being used for around town transportation)
What's going to be hardest to do? Should I be presoaking the 7 bolts (4 at the engine/header connection and 3 at the catalytic flange) with rust remover?
There's also a sealing ring shown in the eeuroparts exhaust diagram to seal this pipe to the catalytic converter, so I'm assuming I'll also need that?
Anyone done this job themselves recently? If so, how long should I plan for?
Or is this one of those jobs that's just not worth tackling for the novice car repairer?
Thanks!
Todd inMA
