here's the situation:
buddy has 86 SPG, body is awful, tranny is totally shot but car runs and pulls hard.
He has an 85 8v (NA) and wonders if he can put a 16v turbo engine into it. I told him it would be a ghastly job, and not worth it.
I on the other hand have an 86 Notchback (NA of course) with a bad HG and a tranny missing its 1st gear synchro. I have a good tranny from my 83 900T sitting waiting for a car.
I'd like to put his turbo engine onto my tranny into my notchback.
So the question is:
how ghastly a job is it to convert a non turbo to Turbo? At least they are both EFI.
I could put the SPG dash into the Notchback, and
I have an 87 SPG (running, good car) that i could refer to while creating my turbo notchback, but wonder about wiring up the APC, differences or any requirement to swap fuse-boxes, etc.
any advice would be appreciated.
