Hey Ken - You need to drive the price a good bit lower. Six months ago I bought a 94 Saab 900 Non Turbo Convertible with 94K miles for $2000. The car was on visual inspection in 'good' shape and drove fair. It needed new tires, alignment, and a new roof and had one cracked headlamp. Since the original purchase, I've turned the 'good' shape car into great shape (see my other messages for all the work i've done on the car) but have spent roughly $3K (just in parts as I've done all the labor) on top of the $2K purchase price to get a car that I know is reliable and in great shape for the roughly $5K which is what the car is worth if I were to try and sell it today. Classic Saabs are great weekend cars (IMHO) and are wonderful to drive. However, you must be quite mechanically inclined or be ready to dump some good cash into a repudible mechanic. The age of and mileage of the car you are looking at is prime for needing lots of replacement parts (fuel pump, alternator bushings, ball joints, etc.) and as long as you are prepared for these costs (I was) you won't be unhappy with the car. However, if you think that the car you are looking at is as good physically and mechanically (records would help) as my '94 is today then $4K-5K would be a good number to shoot for.
