at the very newest, your car has 10 year old rubber bushings all over the place. My plan for May is to replace all the suspension components (save front springs) with roughly OEM stuff. IE Sachs shocks, heavy duty rear springs, all rubber bushings (except for front A-arms). I figure most of the unpleasantness comes from old rubber.
I can see how lowering springs and stiffer shocks would improve the ride - if anything wouldn't they make it more "responsive" (ie harsh over the bumps).
