The windshield comes out to the outside, not the inside. No need to remove the dash or headliner.
He removed the "L" shaped clips that hold the wedge strips in the channel of the gasket. He removed the wedge strip along the top and sides, but left the bottom one in. He said if he had a helper he would remove the lower wedge but then the rubber rolls down and out and the window pops out of place as you try to install the glass if you remove it. So he leaves it in.
With the wedges out, he pushed the glass out from the inside at the top, once free at the top and half way down the sides, it can be fully removed from outside the car. The glass may crack at this point.
Feel around in the lower channel and remove the 2 metal "clips" designed to position the glass, He used a pair of pliers and sheet metal cutters to finness them out.
Using commercial suction cups he placed the lower part of the glass in the lower channel and worked the glass into the side channels until the top edge of the glass rested on the outside edge of the rubber gasket. He used the suction cups as leverage to push the glass down into the lower channel, there is a lot of friction from the rubber, work in small deliberate motions.
Use plastic tools to move the rubber into position, From inside the car he pushed the rubber gasket past the edge of the glass until the top edge could be set into the channel. This is the hardest and most time consuming part as the glass is under pressure and not yet in position. Use a plastic wedge like a spatula handle or body putty filler applicator wedge to move the rubber into position, Occasionally force the glass down using the suction cips. Eventually the rubber gasket is in the correct position and the wedge strips and clips can be reinstalled.
After watching it, I think I could do it, but I would not want to. I had glass coverage as part of my comprehensive coverage so it was free for me.
Its doable, but do it indoors and take your time. The rubber gasket is reusable and does not need glue or sealeant if in good shape. It took a pro about an hour all in.
