second what nt moore offers.
1. if you want the car to scoot, better to sell now and buy a turbo to avoid dissapointment. i kept my n/a and still want for a turbo.
2. but, if you are ok w/ it's present power, there are a number of high yield mods you can do to perk it up some, in rough order of yield vs cost. re: suspension - you'll be stunned at how a fresh suspension c900 handles - well, it understeers but a lot of fun. Ball joints and tie ends are so cheap, if any doubt I'd just do 'em; big proponent of getting the stock swaybar kit, i think your '84 is predrilled, just ket used w/ new bushings; yes, ideally replace *every rubber bush: rear panhard, trailing links, swingarms and front at least the upper c-arm bushings when get the excuse to unbolt engine (the lowers too but they hold up better relatively speaking); the stock boge shocks are very good, i had the sach's sports for a while and even better, koni maybe most popular around here for sporty; prob safe to say intrax are the spring of choice around here, a few other avail too. ah, and 195/60r15 tires, get best avail in size. re: engine, thorough tune up is simple and high yield on a c900, do vac advance too. Also diy intake clean and idle. Do plunk down for a *professional injector/intake cleaning - may be surprised after 20yrs of gunk. vac lines and grommets... vac lines and grommets. K&N, sure, but no big diff. Header, imo absolutely. Remarkable improved characteristics when added header and hiflow cat. trivial if any diff by adding cat back in my case, and too loud.
3. such is my experience learning 'saab' on this same car since '92 Have fun!
