I picked up a 89 original spg in edmonds washington for $1200-it had 125,000 on it when I bought it-I've only had to flush the radiator, full tuneup, drain and fill gearbox oil (do not use redline if it's gl or MO-learned from the 900 10 years ago).

You need to look through all the classifieds-I've found the last two of my 900s through the NW classifieds-the other was an 89 900T 4door 5speed with 200 that is prisitne (one owner) that I gave to my sperated wife (just so I don't have to worry about her). The third 900 was my 87 900 T 3door manual that has a rebuild (scanwest build an 89 tranny up for me for no cost since my core was bad) with head gasket and timing chanin done as well (with all seals too) that took a broadside and was totalled (saved my life)-that I have for a parts car for both the 89 spg and 89 4door.

I also have a 84 900 turbo (8v) manual that I use for a parts car (perfect body and ran like a champ before I started parting it).

These cars have been the best investments I've ever made for transportation-I use the spg for the daily driver even though I shouldn't (seperation is a real killer). And I love driving them-they are safe, cheap to maintain (if you buy the parts yourself and do most of the work yourself). The 4 door I just replaced the balljoints, front right rotor, and pads on too, and I trust it with my WAS and wouldn't let her drive anything else (and she loves it too, just as she did the old 87 900 3door T-that was her car too).

I've also driven a 89 900C for a few months and though I liked it it just isn't as tight or as safe as a nonc-it was really fast but you could really feel the chassis flex on it-for that reason alone I wouldn't get a convert-but that is only my POV ;)
