Jeff, remove kick strips on both sides (front of car) and the ones that go up vertical from floor. This will help you pull the carpet up high enough to get at heat vent screws (2) behind the storage bin console. Anyway, disconnect driver's seat heater wires, remove driver seat, 4 T50 screws at all 4 corners. Remove center console by pulling up shift boot and removing 2 screws, disconnect window switch and dome light switch, 2 more screws at rear of console under rear ashtray. Remove storage bin console by pulling ashtray and undoing 4 screws and brass bolt in center then carefully tugging to free it of the dash overhang. Peel back carpet and stuff in passenger footwell. Remove 2 screws holding black plastic heat ducting, and pull the Y shaped diffusers out that run under front seats. Don't remove the diffusers altogether, just slide them enough to get room to remove ducting. Front screw for heat shield is under hard plastic wire harness gutter that runs underneath the shift linkage. There is a steel clip that holds this gutter in place, pop gutter out of clip and undo that torx screw, you might have to pop a hole in your insulation if the shield is original, mine already had a hole. 2 more screws are at rear of shield, just aft of rear ashtray in center console. I removed my back seat and pulled passenger side rear kick strip to get the carpet up enough to find these screws, maybe there is an easier way but I couldn't figure it out. Rear seat comes out by tapping out 2 pins, super easy. Remove those 2 screws, they'll be under insulation and padding too, again, mine had been accessed at least once so there was 2 neat cuts in foam for access. Undo these 2 screws, then slide under car and remove 2 more screws just forward of the middle muffler, the shield should fall out. Installation is reverse of removal- HAH! always wanted to say that. Good luck and page me if you get stuck!
