they are glued on generally. my windshield guy got his reciprocating saw out, put a long thin blade on it (like a medium sized drywall knife) and worked it between the tail and the hatchback. this worked well on the under side .
to undo the top side (under the rear window) the window gasket is in the way, so he popped the rear window out of the hatchback to get at that part. I was scrapping the hatch anyway, so i got an extra window out of it.
worked like a damn and didnt damage the whaletail.
