I'm just about done with a very thorough resurrection of another 900. The original List of things needed to fix has shrunk to just a few left.The list was ammended several time of course. I'm down to just about a half dozen things left, when yesterday, I thought about that stupid ashtray. I've tried and tried to figure out how to make it function properly though the years with no luck. I've actually ordered new clip springs (having manipulated them in every single way possible)...no luck. I've found several never used "new" ones at the junkyard...they still pop out. Never mind the thought of actually using the stupid thing for what it is designed for, I'd like to simply have it stay in place without clear shipping tape. Anybody come up with a fix for this?
