i am looking at a '86 -900s 4dr with 300,000kms seems in good condition and well mainained. Also looking at a'89 -9000 4dr which is said to be in great shape and also very well maintained......
one friend who has owned 5 Saabs advises against buying these older Saabs because of repair costs and his experience of having spent thousands on several of his Saabs, difficulty getting parts and frustration at getting stuck in the rain somewhere far from the nearest garage etc...
a mechanic friend says don't buy a Saab, nothing but problems....
another says if you get a good one there's nothing like them....
another said they have had very few problems with both of the Saabs they have had....

can anyone chime in with advice or help? i think Saabs are so cool and no one else makes anything like them, but i don't have a huge budget to sink into repairs and i need my car for work as well as play.

any and all opinions would be appreciated..
