With a helper you can put the whole works back on as a unit, but as you now know it's heavy.
You might consider pulling off the manifold and sending the head out to a machine shop for planing, new valve stem seals and to compression check the valves. They can lap the valves or replace any bad ones(fairly rare). Normally costs about $100 and is worth it even just for peace of mind.
At a minimum, you should check the head for flatness with a straight edge and you can put in the valve seals yourself.
