Very cool, but controvercial idea. Not exactly a C900 with a different engine and frame. But hey, if you're gonna jump off that ledge, do it with panache!
Some thoughts: Fiberglass construction is in my blood, so I can appreciate your cloning concept. With a rebuilt frame, you'll still need all the original door and hood fastener points - they have to be adapted onto the new frame at the exact points. Also, the fiberglass shell doors need a frame on which to fasten, so you'll no doubt be keeping the original door interiors. Usually with a fiberglass shell car, because you can't weld framing or ribs or fastener points on things such as hoods and trunk lids, all those things are glassed into the part. You have to really know what you're doing to do it right, and be prepared for redos. You'd have to have a stripped duplicate car sitting next to the rebuild so you can measure and fit the new parts onto. Lots of work and lots of fun. Do it!
