Seen it many times after an engine swap. I have changed 4 or 5 Saab engine and I don't know how many others auto makers engines. I did a swap in a 67 porsche 911. The motor ran great but when we put it in the new car and got it running OH BOY did it smoke (Porsche engines are dry sumps). When you pull an engine and move it around or if you put it on a stand and turn it over it gets oil everywhere. In the case of the porsche it smoked BAD for 20 min. to the piont that I thought there was somthing wrong but it passed and was fine. If it does not pass in 1/2 hour or so then worry. Smoke comming off the engine its self is also no big deal as long as it passes. It can take a little bit of time. If you painted the engine it needs to burn in and can cause some smoke but most times it is just oil and other junk on the motor from handling it. I guess this was a little long winded way of saying it should pass. Good Luck...
