Other than some gaskets, you don't really need anything new. It would be easiest to do a conversion with an entire parts car; in my experience, chasing down this bolt here and that bracket there gets really tedious really fast.
Lots has been written about this on the Performance board. Search "lpt" (short for light pressure turbo), "n/a conversion", "NA conversion", "adding a turbo", etc. Compared to most other cars on the road, adding a turbocharger to a Saab is an absolute breeze because it is, truly, a bolt-on affair.
As for not being able to run much boost--yes, you're not going to get as much as a true 900 Turbo, but you can still get a plenty good-sized kick in the butt. I know of a couple turbo'd NA motors locally that are running 12-13 PSI, and there is a turbocharged + nitrous 900 turbo with NA compression that was making around 300 hp until it blew the headgasket--not a piston; it's in the current Grassroots Motorsports.
