Greg,
I went through this last week. It is not so much as the reuse of the head gasket, but the strength of copper vs. oem. There is only one place that I know of that carries copper head gaskets and that is Group 9. Speaking with Dave, you will have to o-ring the head so you don't have any antifreeze leaks. He uses copper in the really modified engines he builds. However speaking with Group 9, Saab Savior and Swedish Dynamics, they all say that the oem gasket is being used by people boosting up to 36 lbs. Having thought all of this through, I went with an oem gasket. Use Permatex Copper Gasket Sealer when reinstalling. Afterall, it lasted 12 years. Be sure to have the head checked by a machine shop and look at the valve seals while it is out.
