I had the misfortune today of changing the water pump on my wife's Dodge Stratus. I only did it because I cannot afford to pay someone else. What a friggin pain in the neck! No room, had to runout twice for low clearance tools. This was an all day ordeal, have to remove all belts, motor mount, jack up the engine, timing belt, timing belt covers. Geez, why dont they just put an electric pump on there.
I could have done 4 Saab water pumps in the time it took for one crappy Dodge. Yet, local mechanics turn away Saaba, and work on Dodges all day long.
