in addition to SD's advice, you may want to have your machine shop clean up the block, resurface the deck and check for piston wear by checking piston clearance.
Also, unless your bearings are really bad, a simple 'polish' on the crankshaft will prep it for the new bearings. get it hot tanked so that its clean too.
Some shops will tape off the piston head and clean the piston, or you can scrape out the ring lands with a broken-off piece of piston ring and then take them in for cleaning. they are usually nicely carboned up...
of course you may want to consider a complete valve job - unless your engine's compression is perfect, in which case strip off the camshafts and have the head cleaned and resurfaced to eliminate any warpage and the old mating surface.
oil leaks are common around the oil return port at the very front right of the engine (when looking forward) as its so close to the side/end of the head/block and the gasket gives way there. some shops take the 'rear' plate off when doing a clutch job just so they can reseal that area and prevent leaks in the future.
