That said, a/c o-rings are generic items. I just take my old ones up to the parts store, & match them up. All o-rings sold nowadays are compatible with both types of refrigerant.

Easiest way to run the compressor for charging is to jump the low pressure switch with a paper clip. Being that you're not looking to do a perfect job, you don't really need a charging scale. However, I would get a manifold gauge set rather than the el-cheapo charging hose from the parts store. Here's a decent gauge set:

That & a $5 themometer to measure vent temps should get you very close.

If you have access to an air compressor, I'd spend $15 on a vacuum pump to pull a vacuum on the system.
