Best solution: replace the lock. And if the next best solution deosn't work you might have to do that anyway. Also, there might be some binding between a broken or bent reverse lock out, so you might have to fix that. But, if the problem is just a sticky lock cylinder, what I've done is to pour water in the lock to clean out the spilled coffee, soda, or whatever, follow it up with some brake cleaner spray, followed by some WD40 or the like for some lubrication.
