Thanks for the info Bill...will check the wire first thing in morn.
I suspect AMM because for a couple of minutes after start up(starts fine)the engine searches with revs going up and down from stall to 1200-1400rpm. After the exhaust/oxygen sensor heats up to operating temp it takes over im thinking. And the car runs normal but with idle a bit high. If I shut it off for 10 minutes....same irratic idle for minute or so.
When I got the car back from mechanic one of the alloy hubcaps was dented all over also and I am sure they were all in good nic. After the mechanic repaired gearset for ignition mechanism failure which is now grinding going into 1st and reverse, the only advice he gave me was that battery was bit small for car. I questioned that as have never had any battery probs...then after starting car I quized him about starting giving him detail about whats happening after he had it...and his reply was it was hard to start for him...it must need a tune. This is hard to swallow when the guy specialises in saabs with at least 30 saabs in his yard both wrecking and building. I dont doubt his saab knowledge...just his morals...what are your thoughts? many thanks for your help
