I had a quick look at the upper bushings, and none of them looks obviously bad. I've seen them go bad before, so I have some experience with that failure. I'll still check them out more than just visually, but I don't think they're the problem.
I'm less concerned with the clunking than I am with the pulling, which was significant. I forgot to mention that when the car pulls left during accel it also jacks up noticeably, and squats down when pulling right on decel. Come to think of it, this is probably due to toe-in/toe-out respectively, and if I'm remembering it all right, it's probably something wobbly on the R/H side.
My suspicion now is that the R/H side toes in on accel, jacking the front up and pushing the car left, and when it toes out on decel all the opposite things happen.
I know that any A-arm bushing could lead to this as could a bad steering rack or rod-end, but I wouldn't think a ball joint would do it (that would more directly affect camber and castor). I also don't think a CV joint (inner or outer) or wheel bearing is a likely culprit.
