Dash light fuse #23 blowing...(long) Posted by vsfoxe [Email] ![]() ![]() |
'93 900T, good looking wires, looks original & neat.
Was working on OEM Clarion Radio/CD system. Noted one (of 2) lights inop. for switch lighting. Replaced bulb, fixed radio, now fuse #23 is blowing anytime the left rheostat is turned up with Lights on or Parking Lights on.
Instrument lights (rheostat under speedometer) work fine.
I've removed many switches/items (Seat Heater sw., A/C sw., Recirculate sw., Rear Window Defrost sw., Hazard Lights sw, Window Switch Assy, Time-Delay Relay, Lighter, Radio System & racks, Instrument Panel & Facia, center consoles. Replaced left rheostat and Light switch. Examined all wires in dash, console and under fuse box, and three 29/33 pin bulkhead connectors behind driver's kick panel. Grounds G4 & G8 look fine/clean.
Asking for suggestions on basic/odd things I can check before I reassemble it. Sure would be nice to have dash panel lighting. Perhaps a wire I could add from fuse box to a point on the light system to replace suspected bad wiring (I can't figure out what's bad!)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a '90 SPG to compare it with, but it's wired significantly differently, at least at the Light Switch.
