Alternator removal gone bad! AC questions

I was going to pull the alternator off of my 1991 900s and I've disturbed the AC dragon. The metal pipe is now hissing on the high pressure side of the compressor. It's leaking right where the pipe has a tab that is bolted to the compressor to hold it in place. Can I wait for it to leak down, JB weld it and fill it up with a can of 134. It was already converted several years ago and every summer I add a can of 134 with a cheap hose/gauge assembly. Or, am I going to have to replace the hose set and have someone vac it down. I already have a drier and expansion valve that I didn't have to use two years ago sitting on my shelf. Has anyone used the cheap vac pumps from Harbor Freight?
Thanks,
Kevin
