You are buying an old car, no matter how well maintained it will still have issues...may find a good one for between 3K and 5 K but still expect to put money into it. Being a DIY will certainly help, otherwise they are expensive to repair, but well worth it...makes a handsome convertible, fun to drive....a couple of quick tips....better a turbo than a non, 5 speed is prefferred but auto is ok, you can easily convert if the auto burns out ( Note: I didn't say cheaply!) Watch out for rust, Cars from FL or perhaps Ca are best, but not immune to it! I bought a 1990 white turbo convertible with auto, abs, and airbag for about $2500 on ebay, and after putting about the same into it I am very happy....happier than if I bought one that was Perfect for 5K and then had to put $2500 into it...GOOD LUCK!
