gotta start somewhere... Posted by Saabu [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Oh, how I dread asking this question (re: shocks)..., Joe98, Tue, 28 Sep 2004 14:54:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
i dont think you can go much wrong with the OEM Boge shocks for starters. i just got some from eEuro as well and based on my research they were a very good deal price wise (hell, they ARE from Germany, so must be good!).
once you get them on and see how they are, go from there. if the ass end of your car is starting to sag, you will need new springs. there are tons of options when it comes to springs, depending on what you want for a ride. lots of posts in the archives too!
another thing, i've read that poly shock bushings are too harsh for the average guy or car. more made for race/feel situations.
another question, are you going to change out the upper control arms? that's a bitch of a job with engine in the car. you may want to just do the pass. side.
Also, pressing the bushings in (especially the lowers as they are so big) is tricky business and just about requires special tools and a press. do some research there and order spares!!!
