You won't get a cushy ride with aftermarket shocks/springs. I don't know the spring rates for the Intrax, but you may find the ride better with the stock springs & Konis.

Some folks reporting improved ride are enjoying the benefits of replacing worn shocks, which can cause a stiff ride. Also bear in mind the subjectiveness of ride quality.

Part of the improved cornering comes from lowering the car a bit, which induces more negative camber.

Shocks have nothing to do with steady-state cornering ability, but, as you can feel, they do affect how the car manages bumps and transitions (corner entry/exit).

205/50-16 on Aero rims is hardly "gangsta."

If I were looking for improved handling and comfort, here's what I'd do:

**Custom alignment -- negative 1.5* camber, max spec caster, just a little toe in.

**Wider 15" rims. Get a set of 15x7s from a 9000 or aftermarket and put 205/55-15s on them. You get a sizeable increase in tire patch, get sufficient sidewall for comfort, and you maintain speedo accuracy. Saab's 5.5" rim width spec is a joke.

**Better tires. 205/55-15 is very popular. Do your homework and get something sticky. See http://www.tirerack.com and search by tire size, not vehicle.

**Install polyurethane swaybar bushings front/rear. Bushings can have a substantial affect on bar rate, sometimes doubling their stiffness by going from rubber to poly or harder. This will make the car corner flatter, keeping more rubber on the road, hence better grip. Rears available from Brad at kcsaab.com; front bar-ends available from nearly any Saabnet sponsor parts shop, and the inner bushings are available from Swedish Auto Specialties in Oregon for under $20/pr.

**Replace the rear suspension's bushings if your car's been around the block a time or two. For a street car, the stock rubber stuff is fine. Also do the front lower a-arms and passenger side upper a-arm (can't easily do the driver's side).
