a 14 mm open end wrench to loosen the brake line at the caliper, and i believe you use a 17 mm on the other side to hold the line steady while you crack it.
dont hook up the ebrake cable until the pads are installed (ask me how i know) or you will be tight for space.
also, if the e brake is really tight once new pads are installed, you will have to back the cables off. pull the drivers seat and you'll see an access panel just below the handbrake on the side of the console. pull the shifter boot and that top console panel to access the e brake cables and use needle nose pliers to hold them still while you turn the adjusting nuts, or nothing will happen. havent checked if you could use vice grips on the cable at the caliper, i think the cable will just twist inside if you do that... Doug, care to answer that one?
i find working on these front brakes a real chore - by the time i'm finished i've pretty well emptied out my whole tool chest and cant walk near the car...
wonder what life would be like with an 88+ car....
