I did the conversion you are trying to do in an 88 C900T Coupe. I don’t recall having a hard time removing the plastic. But as far as moving the rear to the front I think you would be better off to get the whole setup from a junkyard. I used an 89 SPG as a donor (don’t get mad guys it was all rusted out lol), this is why, not only do you need to change out the seat belt hardware but you need to change the panels on the inside by the back seats. The old ones have no holes in them for a seat belt to pass though. Also you are going to need a new headliner (to do it right). The old one was cut at the factory to make room for the tracks. I did not do this step, as I did not have a headliner. What I did was to remove the tracks and cut them right before the start to curve down. Then reinstalled them (you must to put the plastic covers back on). Then trimmed the covers to meet the new B post covers you will need to install. It is not the neatest but it looks better then you might think. You also need to remove the chest belt for the seats. I did not have to do this because I installed the SPG seats too (that was FUN. Who would think the seat mounts could be that different). You do catch a brake on one BIG thing, that is the holes and nuts for the 3-point setup are already in the frame and are even filled in with a plastic cover to keep them clean. You NEED to use the same bolts as the car you are pulling the belts out of. Remember in a crash you can get as high as 50 G’s of force for a 1/10th of a sec. (if you are a 200lb guy the belt must hold 10,000lb in the form of a shock load, and this force can even be higher) nothing at the hardware store is going to work. You really do need a parts car for this. You should have no problem finding one in the junkyard (just hope the inside is the same color) or in my case I bought a rusted out car for next to nothing, stripped it and then crushed it (what I paid for the car I would have paid for the seat belt parts at a junkyard and made $40.00 when I crushed it). Got tons of good parts for other stuff. This is well worth the work. Hope this helps. You really can’t cut corners on this one. Let me know if you need help or I can send you Pic. of what I did.
