Regarding the two vac hoses that go through the firewall on the driver's (L/H) side, isn't it true that one hose goes from the intake manifold, through the firewall, then splits and goes to the boost gauge, the overboost switch AND the APC boost pressure sensor, while the other line goes from Cruise Control vacuum pump, through the firewall, then to the dump valve(s) and finally to the Cruise Control regulator (throttle actuator)? I think this may be what you say in your post, but at first I thought you meant there were two *manifold* vac lines through the firewall (not counting the one for Cruise Control, which is not interconnected).
If the above is true, DanF should be concentrating on the first line (manifold --> firewall --> boost gauge, overboost sw, APC boost sensor), as the other one would not hiss under boost.
Sorry if you already said this, but I just wanted to make sure I had it right!
