Hi all....just need to share pain with people that understand.
I've just changed jobs and am in the middle of a 3 week period of time off in between. This has been great because I have been able to finish up a bunch of little projects that I have been in the middle of for a while. I just finished painting and re-installing the bumpers on the '94 convertible this past weekend. They came out great and the car looks fantastic.
Yesterday I just put the interior back into my '90 after it had been out for a long time due to a windshield leak. Fixed leak and some rust on the bottom edge of drivers door. Put in a used rear speaker to replace the blown one that was there. Oh...it was so nice driving it yesterday. I really missed that car. I was going to fix a power steering leak and flush/fill the coolant this weekend. Went out to look at a couple of other little things this morning and started poking around the lower A-arm area that I had welded up a couple of years ago. To my dismay...it is crumbling again....poked a pen through a good portion of it(Yikes!) Taking it tomorrow back to the place that did the work to get it fixed again.
The car is beautiful otherwise. I've put a new headliner and dash in, changed the trim from chrome to black, put on SPG wheels and a spoiler. It looks great.
So...decide to drive it up the street to grab a few things at the store a bit ago and the SRS light starts flashing. Ohhhh! Why?
My new job is in NYC so I was planning on selling the '90 anyway but once I got it back together yesterday I of course started rethinking that. Hmmm...maybe sell the 9-3 and keep the '90 in the city. But after today the car I think is telling me to just fix it and sell it.......but it is killing me.
I guess now we will keep the 9-3 in the city and put the convertible in storage down in Virginia at my Mom's. My wife is also starting a new job in the city and she will need a car...that's why we will keep one there....otherwise I wouldn't think of having a car there.
Anyway.......sorry for the long rant. I'm just feeling the blues about this. Damn you SAAB for making cars that I fall in love with!
