I can't remember if it's in the Bentley or the haynes manual, but they say to make a tool with a small hook on one end, about 18" straight with a loop on the othe end ( out of coat hanger wire). Feed it in under the hood latch, grab the back side of the latch, and pull toward drivers side of car. It helps to look at someone else's car first so you can see how it works, cause you have to work blind for this one
