My '90 TC just does not want to play anymore. Here's the story. (sorry for the length). About two months ago, changed the oil, and as usual, dripped a bit while replacing the filter. After everything was installed, spritzed a little orange cleaner by the filter, hosed it off. Also hosed off around the engine compartment, getting dust and crud out. Left the hood open for a few hours to dry, shut it up for the night.

Next day, started funny (hesitating), but ran OK to work. At the end of the eve, got in the car, and the car WOULD NOT IDLE. If I feathered the gas for a few minutes, it'd 'warm up' enough and appeared to run OK for the drive home. The check engine light comes on for a minute or two after I get going then turns off.

I've been scratching my head for the last two months trying to get the car happy again. I have an alternate set of wheels, so the car that doesn't work has a tendency to sit until I have the time to fix.

So far, I've dug through the Saabnet archives for similar problems, and have gone thru much of the troubleshooting. Coolant sensor, Throttle position OK. Since it's a cool engine problem, I ruled out O2, etc. Vacuum checked over and over, seems unchanged and OK. AMM wire looks OK, but couldn't figure out how to do the test in the Bentley to see the wire burn off residue after shutdown (while stiff connected). Went to get the LH codes, but when I ground pin 2 after moving to run, the check engine light goes off and lists no codes. Nothing. Light just goes off.

So, in summmary, the car starts but does not want to idle. Does not want to accept gas, and will stall without significant feathering. I am stuck. Ideas, please. I am lost at this point.
