We've had a persistant leak on our '89 hatchback. Water comes in around the seat belt channel (we have the foolish self-tightening belts) above the door, drips down and soaks the seat and the floor. This tends to happen only during very heavy and prolonged rainfall.

My understanding is that the sunroof isn't really intended to be 100% watertight, and is designed so that anything that gets in settles on the inside gutter around the opening, and drains out via the 4 drains. If I dump water onto the channel, it comes out beneath the car, so all four drains seem to be working. I can pour water in like this all day and none leaks into the car so this doesn't seem to be the source.

I also tried dumping/spraying a lot of water around the door and that seems to exit/leak well below the point where the leakage is coming in.

Anyone have any ideas what else I should be checking?
