The best thing to get is a shock shaft socket so you can hold the nut while you turn the shaft. Lisle sells one as do Snap-on and Mac.
The other thing you might try is to spin the nut on with an impact wrench.
If no impact wrench, put the nylock nut on a similar size bolt and crank it to loosen up the nylock insert. Or just use a regular nut, better yet use two, so the second acts as a locknut.
