Help please: no start - 1985 turbo

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Background: 1985 900T, has been sitting since May (winter beater). I drove the car home after Thanksgiving (2 hr drive) and it ran fine.
Next day, didn't start and still won't.
Starter has always been noisy, so I tried a jump start, but it didn't help.
Pulled spark plug after cranking and it smells very strongly of gas.
Checked for spark at the plug and it looks fine (white color).
Tachometer bounces while cranking.
Jumped fuse 27 to 30 and I can hear the pump running - but since the spark plug was wet with gas, I don't think fuel is the problem.
All vac hoses seem to be fine - the car idled smoothly when it ran...
Maybe overboost switch? How do you access the turbo overboost switch? Is it necessary to remove lower dash or instrument panel?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Karl
